脳卒中では、脳梗塞の発生率が高く、その中でもラクナ梗塞が最も多い。

通常は、ラクナ梗塞により起こる神経脱落症状をラクナ症候群と呼ぶが、その中には、微小出血によるラクナ梗塞もどきと言えるものが混じっていることがある。

このラクナ梗塞患者とラクナ梗塞ではないラクナ症候群患者を対象に症状の比較などを行った。

ラクナ梗塞患者733名

ラクナ症候群患者146名

その結果、

ラクナ症候群の中にラクナ梗塞ではないものが16.6%あった。

突然発症はラクナ症候群に有意に多く、基礎疾患に心房細動や糖尿病などに違いがあった。
